Six new confirmed artists for the 2020 edition! The American Holly Miranda and the Portuguese Palmers, are the first two international artists of Cranc Festival. Also joining the lineup, the Mallorcan Maria Jaume, winner of Sona9 2019, music contest that rewards the new values of modern Catalan music; the Ukrainian established in Murcia that mixes Spanish and English in a pop-electronic sound, Yana Zafiro; the Mallorcan indie-rock group, Ombra; and Enjoy & Division, the new project of veterans Pepe Arcade and Melohman. All of them, join a lineup full of great names, which already has Manel, Novedades Carminha, Joe Crepúsculo, Maika Makovski, Bronquio and Ortiga.
The first international name is Holly Miranda, an artist with more than 20 years of musical career, who has played with big names such as Florence and The Machine, Lou Reed or Karen O, among many others. She has published two albums with her band “The Jealous Girlfriends” and is part, along with actress Scarlett Johansson, of the band “The Singles”. In 2018, she published Mutual Horse, her third solo album, which has numerous collaborations. The Portuguese band Palmers has also been confirmed, with its pungent garage punk sound have attracted the attention of the music press and have performed at festivals such as Bad Habbits, Black Bass and Sabotage, among others.
If we go local, Maria Jaume -the Mallorcan singer-songwriter winner of the Sona9 2019 contest, who plays between the independent song, folk and simplified pop- will act at Cranc with her close, sincere proposal and with a strong weight in the lyrics, that can be described as raw and transparent. Also joining the lineup, we have Ombra, an indie-rock band from Mallorca that has won several music contests such as OFF Sant Sebastià and Hard Rock Rising, and has been finalist in the Vodafone Yu music contest, in which participated 1,100 bands from all over Spain. Currently, they are on tour for their second album Walk Up the Walls (Flor y Nata Records).
The news of Cranc 2020 continue with Yana Zafiro, a young artist with an overflowing creativity that allows her to create hits at a spectacular rate mixing pop with electronic bases with great charisma and imagination. Changing between Spanish and English and her lyrics full of irony are the hallmarks of this young artist. Finally Enjoy & Division, the new joint project of Pepe Arcade and Melohman.
